The requirement: Retrofit control valve as 1:1 replacement

The company approached A. Hock with an order to replace the Honeywell Series 800 valve used in its plant on a one-to-one basis. The requirements:  The new valve had to be perfectly tight and as durable as the original valve.

Challenges: Outdated process data for compressed air control valve

The Honeywell valve used for compressed air control dated back to the 1980s, with outdated process data that no longer met today's standards. The search for a replacement valve was therefore the biggest challenge.

The solution: finding the right alternative

First, archives were searched for the valves and process data supplied at that time. On the basis of the information obtained, our experts from the control and valve technology department carried out the dimensioning and design of the new S2060 control valve. In addition, it was optimized with the help of current process data.   

The result: New high-pressure valve with smart positioner

Within a very short time, the S2060 plug-shaft guided valve of the high-pressure series was delivered to the customer. The retrofit variant was the ideal solution for the plastics, chemicals and refinery company. The choice of the new S2060 high-pressure valve was the best alternative for the customer to bring the energy efficiency and product quality of the plant back to the optimum level.
